M.Sc Physics course was started during the year 2003 with 26 students & four staff members under the leader ship and guidance of Dr.Sr.Theresa Cherian, Principal&the director of P.G courses Rev.Sr.Adelphine. M.Sc Physics course affiliated to Andhra University was started keeping in view the demand for this discipline having a promising career .Currently the course is affiliated tio Adikavi Nannaya University,Rajamahendravaram. The staff are well equipped to handle the subject effectively. We have Electronics lab & Modern Physics lab with good equipment to enable the students carry out the practicals. Msc.Physics department is recognized as a Research centre by Adikavi Nannaya University,Rajamahendravaram and Dr.A.Nirmala Jyothsna is recognized as Research guide by the university.
The goal is to provide the student with a broad understanding of the physical principles of the universe, to help them develop critical thinking and quantitative reasoning skills, to empower them to think creatively and critically about scientific problems and experiments, and to provide training for students planning careers in physics.
